Nate,

I live in a neighborhood similar to yours in Madison, WI. I agree that the neighborhood can be an extension of you home, giving you easy access to amenities very cost efficiently. It was a huge factor in choosing our present home.

But you and I are preaching to the choir. How do we spread this understanding of neighborhoods as living rooms to new home buyers so that it can become part "where do I want t live" decision making process?

I envision a campaign with billboards proclaiming, "My neighborhood is my living room." "My neighborhood is my home.", etc.

Somehow we need to figure out how to get this idea into people's decision making processes.

Interesting question. Beyond the person (within an institution) saying "I hear you", I suppose the most effective way an institution can respond is through the introduction of new products and services that are accompanied a narrative of some design that in essence says, "we're offering this because we've been listening to you". People start buying the Toyota Prius for the obvious reason that it has a hybrid engine. Others start asking the questions of, "that's nice but I still need the size of a SUV to haul my daughter's soccer team around...where can I get an SUV that has one of those hybrid engines?". And Toyota, GM and a whole host of others respond by introducing products with that design. When we see laundry detergent designed with an over nod to environmental stewardship like Caldrea/Mrs. Meyers, that's an institution in essence saying "I hear you". When you can get a version of a lunchable snack pack but made with food that is organic and designed with healthy diet in mind in addition to convenience, that's an institutional response.

My feeling is that the more we talk about what is driving our value proposition from a values standpoint, the more that smart marketplace players will want to serve your values and give you a value.

One other thing is that an online buneisss administration study course is designed for learners to be able to effortlessly proceed to bachelor's degree courses. The 90 credit education meets the lower bachelor education requirements so when you earn your current associate of arts in BA online, you should have access to the latest technologies in this particular field. Several reasons why students want to be able to get their associate degree in buneisss is because they're interested in the field and want to find the general schooling necessary in advance of jumping into a bachelor diploma program. Thanks alot : ) for the tips you really provide inside your blog.

Nate,

I heard you just a wee bit on WI Public Radio yesterday and I'm intrigued so I'm reading your website.

It sounds to me that you suggest institutions, be it Google or my county government, should be asking where I stand on matters and they should be listening. If we liken an institution listening to how a natural person listens, the speaker perceives being listened to when the listener communicates back verbally and/or non-verbally in a manner that demonstrates they understood meaning. Do I have that right?

OK, assuming I do have that right, how can an institution, not a person representing the institution, but the institution itself, respond to me and the hundreds of thousands of other stakeholders? How is that literally, physically, possible?

Best,
Jay

Interesting concept and a great incentive - if only a gym could afford to give its memberships out for free. Now, say if this hypothetical gym was run on energy produced by the people using the gym (not exactly a new technology) creating a net zero energy environment then perhaps this could work. Better yet, the more people work out, the more energy is produced, the more energy can be sold back to the grid, therefore paying for the costs of running said gym. When energy is not being produced, membership fees increase and cover the cost of the gym. Interesting model. I see a business plan in the works - you in?
